Bill Curry
Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, “One has to feel oneself involved in what one frames through the viewfinder. It is putting one’s head, one’s eye, and one’s heart on the same axis.” Bill Curry embraces this philosophy every time he picks up his camera.
Curry began carrying a Canon AE-1 on his first trip to Europe, when he was hired to be the face of the Nino Cerruti campaign. As one of the most photographed models in the world for nearly two decades, he was featured on the editorial pages and covers of GQ, British Vogue, Men’s Journal, L’Uomo Vogue, along that experience he gathered lessons in lighting, composition, and production while working with such masters as Richard Avedon, Arthur Elgort, Bruce Weber, Francesco Scavullo, Steven Meisel, Jean Pagliuso, and Patrick Demarchelier.
A professional photographer for the past 15 years his clients include Trend Magazine, Cowboys and Indians magazine, Six Senses Resorts and Spas, Private Air Magazine, Platinum Equity and The Chelko Foundation. He is the Creative Director for the Santa Fe Look Book a fashion and fine art photography magazine dedicated to photographers and their vision.He delights in turning his lens to the magical light of northern New Mexico where he resides.
